Wall coverings are a wonderful way to season a room, especially if the rest of your space is streamlined. With an uptick in smaller design studios producing their unique creations (or your custom commissions), you should be able to find or create the exact flavor you’re craving for that accent wall. Here are a few must-sees to get you thinking about the possibilities.
Holographic graphical wall paper. This beautiful pattern by Jane Blevin lights up the room with its mirrored mylar finish. Photo Source: Flavor Paper
Embossed leather floor tiles–perfect for walls! Could anything be more luxe? Photo Source: Black and Black Sophisticated Boar in Herringbone available at Edelman Leather; Cowden Bell Gator available at Ann Sacks
Mixed media glass tile. This is the TYPE tile in white by San Francisco fine artist Rex Ray. Available at: Modwalls
Suspended interlocking tiles. The first time I laid my hands on a Koziol tile, I was hooked. A single piece is beautiful but then when you start playing with the combinations, you can truly make a fantasy world, or, in the case of accent walls, one lovely fantasy vignette. Photo Source: STYLEPARK
Custom wall murals. The three shown here are from Black Crows Studio. I love that on their website they say that their aim was “to bring something totally bad ass to the world of wall paper.” I say mission accomplished. Photo Source: Mountain Living (Center) and Black Crows Studio
